Reasons to choose luxury vinyl flooring

If you haven’t seen it yet, make it a priority for us to show you samples of luxury vinyl flooring (LVF) because you’ll be overwhelmed by the sophisticated high-end designs, all available at a budget-friendly price. It’s 100% waterproof, so it's ideal for the bathroom or any high moisture area, but you will want it in every room in the house. Read further to see why we recommend it so highly.

Style and savings in LVF

The images are inspired by nature, and you’ll see true-to-life representations of wood, stone, or tile, all in a wide range of colors, finishes, textures, and patterns. Micro beveling and deep embossing add even more depth and dimension like the currently trending wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, and distressed looks. Adding to the visual interest is the design option of LVF being cut into planks to mimic hardwood boards, called vinyl plank flooring or square, tile-sized pieces for stone or wood looks, LVT flooring. Many feel the extra seams add even more to the realism, and some take it even further by using grout with the squares!

Ultra-durable vinyl plank flooring

While all vinyl is strong, this is a layered product. At the top is a clear, melamine coating that protects the floor from scratches and scuffs, which also aids in the waterproofing. It keeps spills at the top, just waiting to be wiped off. However, keep in mind that the thicker the vinyl, the more durable and truer LVF should be at least 8-mm, but preferably higher. Wear layers should be 20-mils.

Low maintenance, uncomplicated flooring installation

We know how busy everyone is these days, so it’s low maintenance with an easy installation. Sweep daily, making sure to get into corners and under cabinets so dirt can’t hide, embed, and scratch. Deep clean once a week with a well-wrung mop and manufacturer-approved cleaner. Installation can be an uncomplicated floating floor technique where pieces click together, mat, then hoover over the subfloor with no nails or glue. Subfloors need only be clean, dry, debris-free, and level.
